The Ultimate 2016 Superhero Showdown
It's time for one of the biggest polls in 2016...
The Superhero Showdown
We polled each franchise on its own. These are the three winners!
In this corner we have
Captain America: Civil War
The Captain America franchise is one of the strongest going in comic book movies. The first film started off with a solid showing. But, it was the Winter Soldier that boosted the franchise to lofty heights. Captain America: Civil War was the continuation many hoped for. It wasn't a perfect film by any means. Yet, Captain America was critically acclaimed, loved by fans, and had an excellent box office. Marvel continues to get love from critics and fans alike. But was Civil War really that good?
Worldwide Box Office: $1,153,300,000 (Rank #1) on a budget of #250 million

Ultimate Edition: Batman v. Superman Dawn of Justice
The epic showdown of Batman v. Superman finally arrived in 2016! The introduction to the Justice League and the setup of the entire DC Extended Universe exploded at the box office. Fans were mixed. Critics slammed the film. The Ultimate Edition helped solve some story, pacing issues. Yet, it came out of the DC bracket after soundly being preferred to its counterpart Suicide Squad. The film is still a lightning rod among fans with a wide ranging variance in opinion. Love it or hate it, Batman and Superman on the same screen as Wonder Woman, Lex, Doomsday with flashes of other Justice League members is the kind of geek fantasy some though we'd never see on the big screen.
Worldwide Box Office: $873,300,000 (Rank #6) on a budget of #250 million
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 27% Tomatometer and 64% Audience Score
SUPERflix Movie Opinion: Mixed bag with highs and lows. Weak writing, some poorly done characters. Excellent visuals and action sequences.
SUPERflix Movies Article Highlight: Ultimate Flaw
This shocking entry onto the comic book scene exceeded expectations. Deadpool conquered the odds of a notably small budget, the longest pre-development stage ever, and a supposedly box office limiting R-rating. Deadpool wasn't supposed to play with the DC or Marvel's of the movie world. Yet, in many fans eyes Deadpool left the big boys smelling like burnt old lady farts in the furniture section of IKEA. Deadpool became the highest grossing R-rated film of all-time! It opened the year with an absolute bang and development has already begun on the sequel. The X-men franchise stumbled with Apocalypse and if it weren't for Deadpool printing money, the franchise would be hurting. There is life still breathing in the X-universe thanks to the chimchanga loving jack ass named Francis, I mean Deadpool. Thanks Ryan Reynolds. We're even now. Green Lantern was worth it to get to Deadpool. Is it good enough to knock off the big boys?
Worldwide Box Office: $782,600,000 (Rank #7) on a budget of $58 million
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 84% Tomatometer and 90% Audience Score
SUPERflix Movie Opinion: Awesome! Groundbreaking. Well written, exceptional style and tone. Spot on for the character.
